Overlooking the Humber Estuary, The Deep is an education and conservation charity with an awe-inspiring aquarium in Hull.
As a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), The Deep provides inspiring formal and informal conservation education to a diverse audience. Providing the highest levels of animal care and welfare, The Deep contributes to breeding programmes and field conservation. Forging partnerships with key governing bodies, conservation organisations and other prominent zoos and aquariums, we are collectively working to make an impact in the protection of our oceans.
The Deep receives no on-going Government funding and is therefore totally dependent upon ticket sales and other revenue streams to cover operational costs and to carry out its education, conservation and research work.
Our Mission:
"To create a deeper understanding and enjoyment of the world’s oceans and inspire positive change for their survival."
Our Mantra:
"For the oceans, for their future."
